The 80/20 Paradigm

03.22.2022

How to live life on easy mode. Make the money you want, meet the people you want, and turn life into a video game....

The first picture you see down below of me in the hammock is a from December 2020. I remember staring out at the bluest water I had ever seen. Yellow hues in the sky with purple and blue tints. Jagged rocks emerging from the earth’s crust with green flowing up to the top. I'm nearing the end of a weeklong vacation to Oahu to test my 4 hour work week hypothesis: Could my business make $20,000 in a week while I sun my balls on the North Shore, while working less than 4 hours?

I'd dreamed of this for years, and finally I was able to make it happen.

Freedom.

In this post, i'll show you the thinking paradigm that allowed me to do that.

______________

Living 80/20 is the optimal paradigm of life.

It’s being effective and efficient at the right things, instead of wasting hours doing work that doesn’t build to your ideal life.

It’s doing what you love while getting more and better results, instead of doing what you hate because you think you have to make a living.

It’s having a better social life with minimal effort, instead of approaching hundreds of people only to end up with people you don’t really like and who doesn’t support your goals.

It’s dating your perfect 10 without working your way up the social ladder. It’s living where you want, when you want asap, instead of settling. It’s having your cake and eating it too.

It’s the 4 hour work week that makes you $80,000 a month, instead of the 9–5 that makes you 80k a year.

It’s having a jaw dropping physique with 45 minutes of training per week, instead of spending hours in the gym 7 days a week for minimal gains, low energy and time wasted.

Living 80/20 is simply “The Way” and I’m going to show you how.

Chapter 1: Happiness Islands

Happiness Islands is a thought and journaling exercise to figure out what you should be doing more of and what you should completely eliminate. This should remove a lot of useless clutter in your life that’s inhibiting your happiness and success.

This exercise is fantastic to do when you feel stuck in life.

I do this exercise at least once a quarter ~ 2 hours

Instructions:

1.)
At the top of page one write:

Happiness Islands: Under this heading, list out all the periods of time in your life where you were happiest.
Unhappiness Islands: List all the periods of time in your life where you were least happy.
Achievement Islands: List the periods of time in which you accomplished the most and what those accomplishments were.
Dryspells: - List the periods of time during which you accomplished the least.

2.) Review your notes and look for parallels between the Happiness and Achievement islands.

3.) See if you can begin putting plans in place to eliminate the causes of your unhappiness islands and dry spells.

4.) Over the next year try to double the amount of time you spend per day/week/year in your achievement and happiness islands.

Chapter 2: Doing What You Love

This journaling exercise is similar to the happiness islands exercise, but can provide you some additional key insights that could transform your life.

Instructions:

Step 1: List out everything you do in a day and in a week.

Step 2: Go through each activity on your list and give each activity 2 ratings on a scale of 1-10.

The first rating correlates to your level of interest - 1 meaning you hate it, 10 meaning you love it and wish there were more hours in the day to do it.The second rating correlates to the level of success the activity brings you - 1 meaning low results, 10 meaning over the top success.

Step 3: After you’ve rated the items. Go through them. Personally, I like to really take aggressive action toward doing what I need to do to eliminate anything that is below a 9 or 10 in both ratings. And then of course, when I remove activities that are in enjoyable and ineffective, I double down on the activities I love doing the most that bring me the most success.

Chapter 3: Radical Weirdness

recently hung out with 2 multi millionaires and a billionaire in Las Vegas. They are anything but normal humans. They are completely, unapolgoetically weird and unique humans. They don't give a fuck!

One of them told me the secret to their success was not jerking off in 12 years. Another has 5 cats. One of the cats was born without a butthole so she rushed it to a doctor to perform a butt hole surgery so the cat could survive.

Become weirder.

Stray from the crowd. Being normal is the main barrier to your success. You won't achieve anything out of the ordinary if you remain merely ordinary.

If your plan of action makes logical sense, I suggest picking another plan.

Do something no one has done, invent something no one has seen. Think independently.

In early 2020, I had the idea to build a mental reprogramming tool that would transform people into the highest performing versions of themselves. I'd never written a line of code in my life. So I called my computer friends and they told me about this platform that let you connect pieces of pre-existing tech together like legos.

I struggled, I googled, I trialed and errored. And eventualyl it worked. Incredible.

I'm now the founder of a personal development technology.

Ever heard of something like that before? No, you haven't. Because i made it up.

Literally pulled it out of my ass.

Pull something out of your ass. DO IT! Dream it up and make it happen.

You owe the world to become more weird.
