Introduction

8AM Holdings Inc. ("we," "our," or "us") operates the 8AM mobile application ("the App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights. By using the App you agree to this Policy.

Subprocessors and Third-Party Services

The App relies on the following third-party services to operate. Each is contractually bound (or, where applicable, governed by their published privacy terms) and processes only the data described:

We do not sell your personal information to any third party.

Community Features and User-Generated Content

The Network is a social space where members can post and message. Content you choose to share publicly (profile fields, channel posts, wins) is visible to other members. Direct messages are visible only to you and the recipient. We may store community content to operate, moderate, and back up the service.

We provide report and block controls on user profile modals and within direct-message conversations. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate our Terms of Service.

No system is perfectly secure. We will notify affected users of any material breach as required by applicable law.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account (Profile → Settings → Delete Account, two-step confirmation), all your personal data is permanently removed from our primary systems within 30 days. Backups retaining a residual copy are overwritten on our normal backup rotation schedule (no longer than 90 days). Aggregated and anonymized analytics that cannot be linked back to you may be retained.

Subprocessors process data per their own retention terms. We instruct them not to retain content they receive from us beyond what is necessary to deliver their service.

California residents have the rights described above and the right to be free from discrimination for exercising them. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Microphone, Photos, and Camera Permissions

The App requests microphone access to capture your voice during onboarding, daily reflection, and AI Coach conversations. The App requests photo library and camera access only when you choose to set or change your profile picture. You can revoke these permissions at any time from your device's system settings.

Children's Privacy

8AM is intended for users 13 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it. Parents or guardians who believe a child under 13 has provided information to us may contact support@8amapp.com.

International Transfers

8AM is operated from the United States. By using the App you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where our subprocessors operate. We rely on contractual safeguards (e.g. EU Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable) for transfers from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be announced in the App and the "Last Updated" date will be revised. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
